I have been in education for over 20 years and I still feel brand new to the possibilities that each  school year brings.

 

I am honored to be one of the 8th grade English teachers at Smithfield Middle School, home of the Panthers.  Go Metanoia! I have had many roles in my career, ranging from elementary school teacher, middle school teacher, Gifted Education teacher, and Instructional coach to name a few.  Regardless of where my path takes me, my greatest joy is the time that I get to be with students participating in their growth and journey to adulthood.  It is a privilege I don't take lightly.

 

This year may look different than it has in the past, but I firmly believe that this is an opportunity to take the best parts of educating students and to create a new way forward.  I am excited to help spark the creativity and wonder of learning about our world and ourselves as we spend this year together.
